Board Meeting Cancelled / Manager's Report
Greetings Members! The board meeting scheduled for this Saturday, September 16th, has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum. However, I wanted to provide an update on the Association nonetheless.
We have made it through our summer holidays. I love summers at the lake, and I am happy to report that sales in both snack bars are up compared to last summer. We appreciate the support of our members and community. We hope you will continue to enjoy meals at both establishments all year long.
We reseeded the golf course at the end of August--the 30th and 31st. The germination rate of the seed is 15-21 days, and we are beginning to see grass growing in. We have worked hard to improve the irrigation system by replacing parts and upgrading the electric side. As a result, our sprinklers can now be controlled on a timer again!
Hidden Valley had a great turnout for the Hidden Valley Days event. It was lovely seeing everyone together enjoying a fun evening.
Don't forget, Sugar Valley's Fall Festival is this Saturday! The events kick off at 2pm with games, face painting, a bounce house, and vendor booths. The BBQ cookoff will be judged at 4pm and the pie contest will be judged at 4:30pm. A dinner of hotdogs will be served at 5pm, free will donations will be graciously accepted. There will be a DJ outside the clubhouse beginning at 5pm. We hope to see everyone there for what promises to be a super fun day!
Believe it or not, it is time to begin thinking about our annual newsletter. We need to start gathering dates for 2024 events from all the various committees. We will have three open board positions this year--two for Hidden Valley and one for Sugar Valley. If you are interested in running, start working on your biography for the newsletter. All information to be included in the newsletter will need to be submitted by the end of November.
Assessment percentages have changed a bit as we have had tax sales for both SVL and HVL. Some of the properties that had deceased owners or had been in collections have been sold, and the new owners have paid pro-rated assessments for this year. The updated assessment percentages are as follows:
74% of owned lots are paid in full,
6.6% of owned lots are at the lawyer for collection,
1.4% of owned lots the member is deceased, and
18% of owned lots owe but are not in collection yet.
Thank you for your attention to this update and for your devotion to our community. Have a great evening! Tracy Mayhugh
Association Manager
