Board Meeting Cancelled / Manager's Report

Greetings Members,

The board meeting scheduled for next Thursday, July 20th, has been cancelled due to busy summer schedules and vacations. However, I just wanted to provide you all with a mid-summer update on our association.

We have had a great summer so far! There have been so many wonderful things going on at both lakes. We have had many lot sales over the past several months, and I would like to personally welcome all the new members of our community! In other exciting news, we have received several building permits. Just a reminder to everyone who is planning to build at Sugar Valley: you will need to obtain a building permit from Linn County as well.

After several years of hard work and many delays, I am excited to announce that the renovations of Sugar Valley Grill are complete! Our new kitchen is open and operating, and we are looking forward to being able to serve more customers and provide faster service. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make this possible. We are very grateful and are looking forward to a busy and profitable rest of the year.

We have experienced an increase in volunteer work being done by members. I am so thankful to everyone who has donated their personal time to work together to make improvements to our community. I would specifically like to thank the anonymous member who purchased and donated new cups and flag poles for our golf course, Tammy Rogers and the recreational committee for the new chairs around the pool, and Dave and Beckie Zyla for their work on the banquet room at Sugar Valley. If you haven't seen the redone banquet room yet, please stop in and take a look.

We are also formulating a plan to make improvements to Hidden Valley Clubhouse. Be on the look out for things to come!

As of today, our assessment statistics are as follows:

  • 71% of owned lots are paid in full,

  • 16% of owned lots owe just for this year,

  • 11% of lots have been turned over to collections, and

  • 2% of lots are owned by deceased members.

I would like to remind all committees to have reports and talking points for future board meetings handed into me no later than the Tuesday before the board meeting so I can send the appropriate information out to the board members with our Agenda. This also gives us time to look everything over and have productive solutions for questions and concerns.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. Have a great day!
