Stronger Together: Thanking Those Helping Sugar Valley Recover

In the hours and days following Monday’s tornado, the spirit of community has been nothing short of incredible. While the damage to our homes and docks is significant, the outpouring of support has shown that Sugar Valley is truly a place where people look out for one another.

We want to extend a massive Thank You to the many individuals and organizations who have stepped up to help us clear debris, provide medical support, and organize our recovery:

  • Our Neighbors: To the many Sugar Valley residents who grabbed chainsaws, raked yards, and checked on neighbors—you are the heart of this community.

  • Tanglewood Lake: A special thank you for sending a crew over to assist with the heavy lifting. Having our neighboring lake community stand with us means the world.

  • HVL Maintenance: Thank you for your hard work and equipment support during the cleanup.

  • The Red Cross: For providing a central hub for communication and helping our residents navigate the first steps of recovery.

  • Linn County Emergency Management: For your coordination and guidance in assessing the damage.

  • Linn County Health Department: For keeping our volunteers safe by providing on-site nursing and Tdap boosters.

We know there are many others—too many to name—who have dropped off water, lent tools, or simply offered a helping hand. To everyone who has contributed to this effort, no matter how large or small the task: Thank you. Recovery is a marathon, not a sprint, but seeing this community come together makes the path forward much clearer.
